The St. Johnsbury Community Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew’s is back, starting Wednesday, October 7th, at 6:30pm. A lively, all-ages gathering of pickers and fans alike, the Bluegrass Jam happens in partnership with Catamount Arts on the first Wednesday of each month, autumn through spring, with a break in the summer months.

All are welcome at the St. Johnsbury Community Bluegrass Jam, including experienced jammers, beginner musicians, and music fans looking to enjoy live bluegrass in a relaxed and communal atmosphere. “Jammers” of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enjoy a low-pressure opportunity to play as part of a group for a supportive and enthusiastic audience of friends and neighbors. Listeners are encouraged to sing, stomp, and clap along!

Musicians are encouraged to arrive by 6:15 to tune up and get settled, and then the fun begins at 6:30. A dessert potluck intermission will take place at 7:30; attendees and musicians alike are welcome but not required to bring a treat to share. Bluegrass Jam takes place downstairs in the parish hall; the entrance is in the rear of the church.

St. Johnsbury Community Bluegrass Jams are alcohol-free, smoke-free, and welcome all ages. Admission is by donation. St. Andrew’s Church is located at 1265 Main Street, St. Johnsbury. To learn more, visit www.catamountarts.org.
