Drop in and stay as long as you like for either or both of these fun and accessible printmaking workshops. Learn the basics of monoprinting in a low-tech, experimental format. Students will produce one-of-a-kind images by ink transfer, bridging the gap between drawing, painting, and printmaking. Materials will include common household packaging, such as plastic bags, cereal boxes, Styrofoam trays, sticks, office paper, and ballpoint pens. This is a great introduction for anyone looking to explore printmaking without needing all the specialty tools used in traditional printmaking techniques.
This workshop is offered free of charge, thanks in part to an Arts and Social Cohesion grant from the Vermont Community Foundation.
Nico Lima lives and works in Lyndonville, VT. His practice includes painting, printmaking, and installation using post-consumer materials. His work investigates regional cuisine, terroir, agricultural infrastructure and mythologies. Nico received a BFA from UMass Dartmouth and MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. He teaches painting at the Community College of Vermont and exhibits throughout the Northeast.
