Poets and poetry lovers of all ages are invited to share food and words at a Poetry Potluck on Wednesday, September 9th, from 7-9pm at Wandering Vine, at 378 Railroad Street in St. Johnsbury.
Organized by local poets, Poetry Potlucks welcome poetry lovers to bring poems or prose of their own or of others to read, or just come to listen and share food and conversation with other poetry enthusiasts. There is no obligation to bring food, but participants are welcome to do so.
The reading is open mic-style, starting shortly after 7pm. A new feature was added in June: poets are invited to bring works-in-progress, and after the open mic, they are encouraged to share those works, ask questions of the group and accept feedback.
Wandering Vine and Catamount Arts co-host Poetry Potluck every second Wednesday. Poetry Potluck is part of PoemTown St. Johnsbury, a collaborative project of Catamount Arts, Discover St. Johnsbury, and the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, which celebrates poetry in all forms and by all people, primarily during the month of April, which is National Poetry Month.
Wandering Vine is a café and catering company in downtown St. Johnsbury, known for its homey, relaxed atmosphere. The café offers a unique experience with a focus on community building, making it a great destination for dates, celebrations, and events.
