LYNDON — Catamount Arts announces the return of the monthly Strum Club to York Street Meeting House, beginning Tuesday, October 6th. The community is invited to a potluck at 5:30 pm and then the strumming commences at 7 pm.

This free community gathering is open to guitarists, instrumentalists and singers, as well as folks who just want to listen. All ages, instruments, and skill levels are welcome. The event is hosted by the Elliott family; siblings Rachael and Matthew Elliott facilitate the Strum Club and Matthew’s wife Val produces the community potluck.

Strum Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month from October through March. The goal is to build community through the enjoyment of food, music & company during the darker months, “from Stick Season to Sugaring Season,” as the Elliotts say.

Everyone is invited (but by no means required) to bring a dish to share and enjoy some delicious food starting at 5:30 pm. Then stick around to play, sing, or listen with the Strum Club, beginning at 7 pm. Song charts are provided (no need to read music) and participants are also welcome to bring a song or two to share with the group.

Strum Club is free, accessible, and open to the public. For more information on Strum Club, other events at York Street Meeting House, and/or live music opportunities throughout the Northeast Kingdom, visit www.catamountarts.org or call the box office at 802-748-2600.
