Compassion and empathy are at the core of the faux naive paintings on view in Catamount Arts’ current exhibition Leslie Sills: Sanctuary.  Artist, educator and author of award winning books, Leslie Sills is a graduate of The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and has been the recipient of numerous awards including a Fellowship in Crafts from the NEA (New England Foundation for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council).  Her most recent book Rags to Riches: A History of Girls’ Clothing in America was reviewed by the New York Times Book Review and was the winner of the 2006 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Award.  Her work has been shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston and other museums and galleries, and is held in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States.

The Rankin Gallery at Catamount Arts

The Rankin Family Gallery is an intimate space featuring work by member artists who make application to the annual juried show Arts Connect at Catamount Arts, and made possible through the generosity of Gerald and Judith Rankin of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
