Catamount Arts is pleased to present an exhibition on landscape painting by area artist Elizabeth Nelson, on view in the Rankin Gallery from January 31-April 9, 2016.

About the Exhibition: The exhibition of landscape painting inspired by the artist’s experience of living in the Northeast Kingdom, features acrylic works on panel, as well as several mixed media paintings on canvas.

About the Artist: Elizabeth Nelson graduated with a BS from Rhode Island School of Design and Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  For more than 40 years she has lived on her farm in the Northeast Kingdom, where she has painted and also been active as a mother, wife, teacher, dairy farmer, gallerist and curator.

Nelson has exhibited widely, most recently at Shelburne Farms, which displayed work she completed at Elmore State Park in 2015 as part of Vermont’s Of Land and Local Artist-in-Residency Program.
