560 Railroad Community Artist Christine Forni will demonstrate how she makes charcoal over an open fire and uses it to make ink. You’ll also see work she has created during her residency in St Johnsbury and in her Chicago studio.
Christine Forni is a painter and installation artist examining links between human behavior and the natural world. Blending art with environmental advocacy, her work focuses on environmental compassion through poetic connections of habitat, alchemy, anthropology, and memory. Christine explores the intersection of nature and the human experience through painting, printmaking, drawing and environmental community projects. She has exhibited at venues including Awagami Paper Museum (Japan), DeCordova Sculpture Museum, (Massachusetts), Museo Franz Mayer (Mexico), Museo Internazionale Italia Arte and Museo di Scienze Naturali (Italy), the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art to the Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago).
