St. Andrew’s Church, in partnership with Catamount Arts, presents the Community Coffeehouse Concert Series. Bob Amos hosts this series featuring singer-songwriters and acoustic folk ensembles from the Northeast Kingdom and beyond. The next concert will take place on Friday May 15, at St. Andrew’s Church, 1265 Main Street, St. Johnsbury VT, and will feature the acoustic trio Fair Sparrow. Series host Bob Amos will also perform.

Series host, acclaimed Vermont songwriter and performer Bob Amos developed the idea for this series having played many well known coffeehouse venues around the country: “The acoustics in the St. Andrew’s Church sanctuary are superb, and the space is set up in an intimate coffeehouse style, with candle-lit tables as well as normal chair seating. A nice selection of food and beverages will be available, adding to the coffeehouse vibe. Lots of folks are now coming early, at 6:15 p.m. to have dinner and socialize before the show. It’s a wonderful community atmosphere.”

Fair Sparrow

Central Vermont’s Fair Sparrow features the vocal and instrumental talents of three well-known Vermont musicians: Patti Casey, Ally Tarwater, and Susannah Blachly.

Native Vermonter Casey is a multi award-winning singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, a seasoned touring musician, founding member of the Bluegrass Gospel Project, and longtime member of Woods Tea Company, called the “female voice of Vermont” (Rutland HeraldTimes Argus).

Ally Tarwater is a fabulously versatile musician, music educator, and songwriter, with expertise in flute, voice, and ukulele, who finds joy in all aspects of life, especially her dog Rootie, husband Jeremy, and really tiny animals.

Another native Vermont daughter, Susannah Blachly is a highly regarded fiddler, tunesmith, and singer
songwriter who has performed with numerous bands over the years and produced four albums of original music, two of which were ranked among the Ten Best Albums of the Year by Seven Days.

Together, the three weave glorious harmonies with humor, heart, and soul.

A suggested donation of $15 per person will be collected at the door, but everyone is welcome, and a donation of any amount will be gratefully received.
