First Night is an event for all to enjoy, but here are some kid-specific activities you won’t want to miss!

St. Johnsbury School:

We are thrilled to have Northeast Kingdom Human Services coordinate the Fun Fair at the St. Johnsbury School this year! The Fun Fair will include lots of exciting activities including rock painting, a bouncy house and obstacle course, photo booth, and a calm corner. We’re also thrilled to welcome the Children’s Museum of the NEK — creating a perfect fun spot for folks with children from 4 pm – 7:40 pm!

Strolling magic with Alyx the Magician 4 pm- 5:40 pm

St. Johnsbury School PTO & Student Council Pancake Supper, by donation 4 pm – 7:40 pm

Performances including Dance, Magic, and Juggling Variety in the Auditorium from 4 pm – 7:40 pm

Get ready to groove into the New Year at our Silent Disco, happening from 5:00–7:30 PM at the St. Johnsbury School! Slip on a pair of headphones, choose your favorite channel, and dance to curated playlists in a fun, kid-friendly atmosphere.

This experience is included with a First Night North button, and students under 18 attend for free. The best part? No additional equipment from you is needed! Space is limited though—we will have enough equipment for just 50 dancers, so swing by early, jump into the mix, and enjoy a few high-energy tracks. Then, keep the celebration going by heading out to explore the many other performances, artists, and activities happening at one of our many venues across the event.

Fairbanks Museum:

Visit the Tang Science Annex and the Soucy Family Exploration Stations. The museum will be offering free admission for First Night attendees with buttons. The Museum’s learning experiences take place in our awe-inspiring galleries, state-of-the-art STEM Lab, nature classrooms, and outdoor campuses. You’ll discover the natural world with trained specialists in astronomy, meteorology, natural history, environmental science, and other Earth sciences. Additionally, the museum will be offering planetarium shows to First Night attendees wearing buttons on a first come-first served basis from 5 pm – 8 pm.

Don’t miss the Sandglass Theater Puppetry performances at 7 pm & 8 pm!

Catamount Arts:

Karaoke from 9 pm – midnight in Theater 1

Fuller Hall:

Dance, Juggling, Magic, and Hypnosis from 5 pm – midnight!
