“Tatami” is a gripping, politically charged sports thriller following Iranian judoka Leila Hosseini and her coach Maryam as they compete at the Judo World Championships in Tbilisi. As Leila advances toward potential gold, the Iranian government orders her to withdraw rather than face an Israeli opponent. Facing threats to herself and her coach, Leila must choose between national pressure and personal integrity. Co-directed by Israeli Guy Nattiv and Iranian Zar Amir Ebrahimi, the film blends intense martial arts action with a powerful story of defiance, identity, and the cost of standing up for one’s convictions.
