Marie Hamilton is a harpist, vocalist, and end-of-life doula who sees the harp not just as an instrument but as a companion in grief, celebration and transformation. Splitting her time between Vermont and Montréal, Marie moves through musical worlds with curiosity and care. Whether blending genres, incorporating electronic elements or exploring experimental techniques, she gently challenges and transcends traditional perceptions of the harp. Her background in musicology informs a deep respect for tradition but her approach remains intuitive, fluid and emotionally resonant.

Marie’s commitment to her craft extends beyond conventional performance spaces: she offers her music in therapeutic settings including palliative care units, long-term care facilities, women’s safe housing, shelters for the unhoused, animal rescues, equine therapy programs, recovery centers and antepartum units for high-risk pregnancies. She also sprinkles harp dust on a wide array of gatherings, performing with dancers, accompanying aerialists, creating the soundtrack for enchanted forest walks, art installations and even the occasional wrestling match. Marie sees music not as performance but as communion: with others, with herself and with the timeless harp tradition.
