Catamount Arts is pleased to present Frankie Gardiner: So So Hot (Dream of Walking on Blue Blue Water), an exhibition of paintings on view in the Rankin Family Gallery from September 6-November 1, 2019.  A wine and cheese reception will be held on Saturday, September 28 from 5-6:30  pm.  All are welcome to attend.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: The nine small paintings on view in Frankie Gardiner: So So Hot (Dream of Walking on Blue Blue Water) are a dream-like reflection of summer days when the air hangs heavy and time stands still.  Using thin layers of water-soluble oil on canvas, she creates illusionary worlds that are both psychological and deeply expressive.  One has the sense that Gardiner’s momentary landscapes are subject to unexpected changes of weather, inhabited by figures that might slip away any moment without warning.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:  Artist Frankie Gardiner graduated with a BA from Boston University and an MFA from the School for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has exhibited in numerous Vermont venues, including the Helen Day Art Center, Stowe; Space Gallery, Burlington; and TW Wood Gallery, Montpelier.  Nationally, her work has appeared at the Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, MA; Bowery Gallery, NYC; the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Dennis, MA; the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston; Kingston Gallery, Boston; the Provincial Gallery, Kaleva, MI; the Provincetown Museum of Art, Provincetown, MA; the Vivid Space SD Gallery, San Diego, CA and other venues. A past Artist-in-Residence in the Boston Public Schools, Gardiner now lives and works in Waitsfield, VT.
