Mal Maïz is a Vermont based group led by Costa Rican “gypsy devil” Maiz Vargas Sandoval. The band explores the psychedelic side of Latin music, weaving modern and traditional rhythms from Central and South America. Sandoval’s lyrics elaborate the complexity of the myths and legends that are at the heart of storytelling in Central America.
