Description:
“Jane Austen Wrecked My Life” is a 2024 French romantic comedy directed by Laura Piani. The film follows Agathe Robinson (Camille Rutherford), a Parisian bookseller and aspiring novelist who dreams of experiencing a love story akin to those in Jane Austen’s novels. When her best friend Félix (Pablo Pauly) secretly submits her writing to the Jane Austen Writers’ Residency in England, Agathe is accepted and embarks on a journey that leads her into a romantic entanglement with Oliver (Charlie Anson), a descendant of Austen herself. Set against the picturesque English countryside, the film explores themes of love, self-discovery, and the challenges of creative ambition, blending literary homage with contemporary storytelling.
