Our Domestic Resurrection Circus

Catamount Arts is pleased to announce the opening of Our Domestic Resurrection Circus, an exhibit of selected work from the Bread and Puppet Theater Museum in Glover, Vermont. On view in Catamount Art’s Main Gallery from July 2-August 2, 2015, the exhibition explores the rich complexity of artist Peter Schuman’s vision, which combines avant-garde sensibility with the older traditions of folkloric storytelling and medieval passion plays.

Stefanie Klavens: Movie Classics

Catamount Arts is pleased to announce the opening of Stefanie Klavens: Movie Classics, an exhibition of photographs by the Boston area photographer Stefanie Klavens. On view in the main gallery from May 15-June 21, 2015, the show documents the history of neighborhood movie houses as an anchor of social and economic life, making the exhibition a perfect fit for Catamount Arts as vital community showcase for art and film. An opening reception will be held for the artist on Friday, May 15 from 5:30-7 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Jon Imber – Curious Narrative

Catamount Arts is pleased to announce the opening of Jon Imber: Curious Narrative, an exhibition of paintings by the late Boston painter Jon Imber. On view in the main gallery from March 27-May 10, 2015, the show opened in conjunction with the Green Mountain Film Festival’s presentation of the documentary Imber’s Left Hand, which was created as part of the Maine Masters series by filmmaker Richard Kane. The film records the artist’s heroic struggle with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Together the exhibition and film represent Catamount Art’s unique ability to integrate film and visual arts programming in ways that expand an understanding of both.

Matt Brackett: Dark Waters/Grateful Daughters

Catamount Arts is pleased to present Dark Waters/Grateful Daughters, an exhibition of work by Boston painter Matt Brackett. On view in the main gallery from February 13-March 22, 2015, the exhibition will be the first show curated by newly appointed gallery director Katherine French. There will be a reception for the artist on Friday, February 20 from 5:30-7:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Julian Williams: Englewood Boys

Second Tuesday

The work of the Second Tuesday artists is very diverse. Our group is not in any way a school or movement in contemporary art. What holds us together is not similarity of style, content, or medium, but rather a commitment to perseverance in creating work, respect for each other’s process and product, and a desire to have witnesses to (an appraisal of) our own changes.
