Tickets: $75 per sunset ride ticket, Free for Lap Children (2 and under).
Join us for a special sunset foliage train ride taking place during the Fall for St. Johnsbury festival, presented by Passumpsic Bank.
You’ll enjoy a scenic 1.5 hour round trip along a route that hugs the Passumpsic and Connecticut Rivers between downtown St. Johnsbury and Ryegate, Vermont as the sun sets.
Your ticket includes one complimentary seasonal beverage (choice of cocktail, mocktail, beer, wine, or soft drinks) and appetizers provided by the St. Johnsbury Distillery, as well as delicious cider donuts from Eddie’s Bakery. Additional drinks are available for purchase. Ride in a historic Green Mountain Railroad “Green Fleet” car while being entertained by knowledgeable volunteers about the history of the train route and significant sites along the way.
Foliage train rides are a delightful tradition during Fall for St. Johnsbury, and this special ride provides a unique opportunity for you to support keeping ticket prices for regular rides affordable for our local community. Boarding begins 15 minutes before scheduled departure times. PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE TO CHECK IN. TRAINS DEPART PROMPTLY. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED FOR LATE ARRIVAL.

- This ride lasts 1.5 hours, departing from the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center. Rides are operated by the Vermont Rail Systems.
- Seasonal food and drink are provided by St. Johnsbury Distillery and Eddie’s Bakery. Vegetarian and GF options are available. Please contact the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center to discuss allergies or dietary restrictions 802-748-8575.
- Due to the popularity of these rides and the limited nature of the seating arrangements on board, we cannot guarantee that you will be seated with your full party.
- Service animals are permitted, but no pets are allowed.
- Children are welcome on this ride. However, all ticket prices are as listed, except for free admission for lap children, 2 and under.
- Online ticket sales end at midnight on Friday, October 9. Any remaining tickets can be purchased the morning of the event at the Welcome Center – cash or check only.
