Joanne George’s art journey started a few years ago, after her retirement from work as a school nurse. Her discovery of art journaling led to a love of mixed media. Joanne has exhibited her art at Greater Barton Arts (where she leads the Winter Open Studio) and the Greensboro Free Library. She had one of her paintings featured in the July, 2023 issue of Uppercase Magazine, and won the Artists’ Choice Award for Plein Air Painting from Greater Barton Arts in September, 2023. Joanne believes creativity has a healing and nurturing effect on the mind and body, and that finding your artistic voice can be empowering and joyful.
