This class will introduce young children to the dynamics of creating a composition using fabric in a round space. This is an exploratory process art class and children will be encouraged to create individualized works of art. Children should be able to use safety scissors. Children who have prior experience with sewing are welcome to incorporate sewn elements.
Parents are welcome to attend as observers; however, we ask that they do not assist their child.
Class fee: $15 per child, materials included. After paying, please complete an Enrollment Form. Catamount Arts is committed to offering quality arts experiences for all students, regardless of ability to pay; please call Anne at 802-748-2600 ext. 109 for information about scholarship funds.
Christine Nockels (she/her) is the Youth Programs Assistant at Catamount Arts. Christine graduated with a degree in illustration and toy design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and has worked in animation and puppetry, and as a freelance illustrator and fiber artist. She has also worked at the Reggio Emilia-inspired Child Care Center in Norwich while training in early childhood education. She lives amongst many animals and plants and loves being close to nature in Vermont.
