Instructor: Cornelia Hasenfuss

In this 5 week class, we will explore making photographic images using a variety of light sources. We’ll review camera controls and iPhone settings while focusing on natural light as well as studio lighting techniques. Assignments will include lighting techniques using hot light studio equipment and accessories, portraits, self-portraits, and the still life.

Cornelia Hasenfuss has been making images for over 35 years. Most recently, she has taught preschool at Field Farm Forest School and skiing at Burke Mountain. Previously, she worked at the Stevens School, Cardigan Mountain School, and ran a high school AP program at the Waterford School in Sandy, UT. Her experience includes teaching portfolio pre and reviews, large format photography, studio lighting, medium format camera use, basic camera use, and all forms of traditional darkroom skills. She trained and taught at the Maine Photographic Workshops. She has a BS in American Studies from Tufts University, and additional coursework at the Museum School in Boston and Massachusetts College of Art. Her personal art focuses on landscape images, as well as collage techniques including sewing, papermaking, hand coating images and historical processes of photography. Her other interests are in the outdoors: climbing, skiing, and hiking, as well as travel, gardening, and playing with her children and dog. She lives in Peacham with her husband and two children.
