Bring your whole family for foliage train rides taking place during the Fall for St. Johnsbury festival, presented by Passumpsic Bank.
You’ll enjoy a scenic 45-minute round trip along a route that hugs the Passumpsic and Connecticut Rivers between downtown St. Johnsbury and Barnet, Vermont. Ride in a historic Green Mountain Railroad “Green Fleet” car while being entertained by knowledgeable volunteers on the history of the train route and significant sites along the way.
New this year, a special private car is available for a very limited number of seats for each departure. This premium experience includes complimentary fall refreshments–like warm apple cider and Eddie’s Bakery donuts–luxury accommodations, and a private outdoor viewing platform.
Boarding begins 15 minutes before scheduled departure times. PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE TO CHECK IN. TRAINS DEPART PROMPTLY. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED FOR LATE ARRIVAL.

Details:
- Rides last 45 minutes departing from the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center, and are operated by the Vermont Rail Systems.
- Food and drink (no alcoholic beverages) are allowed on the rides. Free spiced cider and popcorn are available on-site at the Welcome Center, provided courtesy of Union Baptist Church. Restaurants and food vendors are available at several locations throughout town.
- Due to the popularity of these rides and the limited nature of the seating arrangements on board, we cannot guarantee that you will be seated with your full party. Priority will be given to seating families with small children together.
- Service animals are permitted, but no pets are allowed.
- Online ticket sales end at midnight on Friday, October 10. Any remaining tickets can be purchased the morning of the event at the Welcome Center – cash or check only.
