St. Johnsbury Players is one of the Northeast Kingdom’s oldest community theaters. For over 75 years Players’ have provided the area with all forms of theater and participate in numerous community events. St. Johnsbury Players was established in 1936, one of the founding members W. Clark Noyes stated that it was originally formed by a group of friends who simply loved acting and producing theater. St. Johnsbury Players productions have taken place in numerous venues, all over the area including St. Johnsbury Academy’s Fuller Hall and Black Box Theater, The Lyndon Center Town Hall, The Star Theater and currently has made their home at the St. Johnsbury Town School. Every year Players awards their annual theatrical scholarship, The W. Clark Noyes Theater Arts award, to an area graduating highschool student who intends to further their theater education.
