North Country Chorus
North Country Chorus, founded in 1947, is a community chorus of about 80 members. Under the direction of Alan Rowe, it serves the Upper Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. The Chorus typically presents three series of concerts each year in local communities. Performances during the Christmas season and in the spring feature mostly sacred works. Summer concerts include a variety of shorter works.
In January 1982 the North Country Chorus began its tradition of Madrigal Dinners as a means of raising money for our 1982 tour of England. While the theme and plot have varied and evolved over the years, each production has featured a mouthwatering dinner and abundant entertainment, including music, drama, dance, and magic.
The group has toured in the Canadian Maritimes, the UK and Europe. It welcomes all singers who are willing to commit to its standards of musical excellence.
