Counterpoint
Founded in 2000, Counterpoint is dedicated to performing choral chamber music and engaging wit
h student musicians to enhance the cultural life of communities in Vermont and beyond. After Counterpoint’s debut, Jim Lowe, writing in the Barre-Montpelier Times-Argus, described them as “a cohesive ensemble, able to perform varied repertoire with style and understanding … a joy to hear.” The ensemble has enjoyed increasing success in recent years, presenting concerts throughout New England, in New York, Quebec, and the Midwest. The group attracted the attention of Vermont Public Radio, which for several years broadcast “A Vermont Christmas with Counterpoint” on affiliates nationwide. They have recorded seven CDs with Albany Records.
