ARTS CONNECT AT CATAMOUNT ARTS

2022 JURIED MEMBERS EXHIBITION

ABOUT: Arts Connect at Catamount Arts Juried Show as an opportunity to feature new and exciting work by emerging and established artists. 

JUROR: Our Juror will be Devon Zimmerman, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary American Art Ogunquit Museum of American Art, Ogunquit, ME. Before coming to Ogunquit, Devon served in many prestigious art institutions and universities. Most recently, Zimmerman was at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum where he was a guest curator and researcher in the Department of Product Design and Decorative Arts. He previously held positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and taught at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Marymount Manhattan College.

SUBMISSION PERIOD: Submissions will be accepted after 12 noon on Friday, October 7, 2022 – until 12 midnight on Monday, November 14, 2022. No late submissions will be
accepted.

EXHIBIT DATES: Wednesday, December 14th – Sunday, March 12, 2023

RECEPTION:  Saturday, December 17, 2022 4-5:30pm at Catamount Arts.

ELIGIBILITY: Artists may submit up to five works created within the last five years. Work in all media is encouraged. Applicants must be Catamount Arts members. Please note that a basic one-year Catamount Arts Membership (valued at $50) is included as part of the $35 submission fee, a discount that we felt was important given how Covid continues to affect selfemployed artists. In addition to covering the submission fee, your Catamount Arts membership allows discounts on admission to films at Catamount Arts and Catamount’s KCP Presents performances, as well as any online events. Applicants who are already Catamount Arts members will receive a one-year extension on their current membership.

APPLICATION PROCESS: Catamount Arts accepts online submissions only for its Arts Connect at Catamount Arts Juried Show. Visit https://catamountarts.slideroom.com to upload image, video, and audio submissions and complete the application process. We regret that we cannot accept submissions by any other method.

FEES:

  • $35 fee includes a one-year Artist Membership (valued at $50), PLUS up to five submissions for one artist.
  • Applicants who are already Catamount Arts members will receive one-year extension of current membership at basic level. Those wishing to upgrade memberships may do so by contacting Catamount Arts.

Please note: Arts Connect at Catamount Arts is a competitive, juried exhibition. Submission does not guarantee participation in the show. Membership and submission fees are non-refundable, even if work is not selected.

PRIZES: Juror’s Choice Prizes will be announced on December 17th reception as follows: Robert Manning First Prize: $500; Second Prize: $250; Third Prize: $100; plus six non-monetary honorable mentions.

SELECTED WORK:  Applicants will be notified of status by e-mail by 7 pm on Friday, November 18. Please do not call Catamount Arts regarding your submission. If work is selected, it must arrive presentation ready (framed or with appropriate installation materials) by 9 pm on Friday, December 2. Shipped work must be received by Monday, December 5 in reusable wrapping with check or prepaid label for return shipping. In-person drop-off will be held Wednesdays-Sundays from 12 noon until 9 pm from Saturday, November 19 until Friday, December 2. Work must remain on exhibit until 5 pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023, with pick-up from on Sunday, March 12 from 5 until 9 pm and Wednesday through Sunday, March 15-19 from 12 noon until 9 pm.

ONLINE CATALOG:  All selected work will be included in an online catalog on the Catamount Arts website and be officially on view from December 14th through close of exhibition.

SALES:  Work for sale must be priced by the artist, with a 40% commission to benefit Catamount Arts. After the close of the exhibition, artists receive checks for 60% of sale price on work sold. Commissions on sale of work support exhibitions and programs at Catamount Arts. If work is not for sale (NFS), value must be stated for insurance purposes. Value of NFS works will not be made public. If sale price is not provided, it will be assumed work is not for sale (NFS).
