APRIL CHILDREN’S CLASSES LED BY ST. JOHNSBURY ACADEMY STUDENTS

St. Johnsbury Academy students will lead a variety of classes during April Vacation Week and beyond as part of their Freshman Capstone projects. All classes are free. Please register directly with student contacts listed below.

ART INSPIRATIONS (Ages 6-9)
Monday, April 17 OR Wednesday, April 19, 10:00am-12:00pm, Catamount Arts Center classroom
Teachers: Audrey Lewis, Isabella Mertens and Lilly Leach
Students will tour the Catamount galleries, learn about various art works and create painting inspired by their favorite piece.

ACTING WORKSHOP: For Drama Kings, Queens, and Everyone In Between (Ages 8-13)
Wednesday-Friday, April 19-21, 10:00am-12:30pm (ages 8-10) and 1:00-3:30pm (ages 11-13), Catamount Arts Center Cabaret Room
Teachers: Maelley Singer, Jericho Rutledge and Jordan Barbour
Participants will work on voice control, memorization, emotion, costuming, improv and more! Each group will present a short performance at the end of the final class.

COMMUNICATING WITH ART (Ages 11-13)
Friday, April 21, 1:00-2:30pm, Catamount Outback Artspace
Teachers: Noah Sorin and Logan Wendell
In an interactive and fun hands-on approach workshop participants will build an understanding of how art is used to make a statement and portray ideas and messages. Participants will create a painting based on a message or idea they wish to convey visually.

"CYBERBULLY" SCREENING AND DISCUSSION (Middle School and older)

YOUNG MUSICIANS WORKSHOP (ages 6-10)
Monday, April 24, 4:00-5:00pm, Catamount Outback Artspace
Teachers: MacKay Breton, Lane Freeto and Marc Lamontagne
Participants will have an opportunity to experiment with instruments they have not tried before such as trombone, guitar and piano. All instruments will be provided

YOUNG MUSICIANS JAZZ WORKSHOP (Ages 11-14)
Wednesday, April 26, 4:00-5:00, Catamount Outback Artspace
Teachers: MacKay Breton, Lane Freeto and Marc Lamontagne
For students with some prior musical knowledge interested in learning about jazz. Students should bring their own instruments.

DANCE WORKSHOP (Grades 1-3)
Tuesday, April 18, 9:00am-noon, Catamount Arts Center Cabaret Room
Teachers: Alicia Choate, Brittney Ailes, Naya Sanborn, and Kiana Keene
Students at any level of experience will learn about the health benefits of movement while trying out fun dance moves. Please bring water and a snack.
